1) The tracking pixel
As part of the evolution of regulations and the recommendations published by the CNIL (the French data protection authority) concerning the use of tracking pixels, and in accordance with our transparency obligation under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we wish to clearly inform you about the use of these devices, their purposes, and the choices available to you.
The CNIL’s new guidelines reinforce the transparency requirements and the need to obtain consent or allow opposition, as applicable, regarding the use of these technologies.
In this context, we wanted to clearly inform you:
- that some of our digital media may contain measurement or tracking pixels;
- that these tools are used for audience measurement, performance analysis and improvement of our communications;
- that you may object to this at any time.
A pixel is a technology embedded in certain emails, web pages or digital content. It notably allows us to measure certain interactions, for example:
- the opening of an email,
- the viewing of a page,
- the effectiveness of a communication campaign,
- the improvement of our services and content.
What is this data used for?
Tracking pixels may be used for the following purposes:
- measuring the performance of our email campaigns;
- analysing the open rate and engagement with our communications;
- improving the content, frequency and relevance of our messages;
- adapting our communications to your interests;
- ensuring, in certain cases, purely technical, security or deliverability purposes.
What data is concerned?
As part of the use of pixels, the categories of data that may be processed include in particular:
- your email address;
- data relating to the opening of the message;
- the date and time of the interaction;
- technical data such as the IP address, device type, email client type or browser, where applicable;
- segmentation or preference data, where used to adapt our communications.
Who has access to your data?
The data collected is intended for:
- the authorised internal departments of the Maison L.T. Piver in charge of communication, marketing, customer relations and, where applicable, compliance;
- our subcontractors acting on our behalf, in particular our emailing, hosting, analytics or campaign management providers;
- where applicable, technical providers involved in the security or deliverability of emails.
These recipients only access your data to the extent necessary for the performance of their duties.
Does your data travel outside the EU?
If your data is transferred outside the European Union, we ensure that these transfers are governed in accordance with applicable regulations, in particular through:
- an adequacy decision of the European Commission;
- or the implementation of appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, etc.
Facebook/Instagram (Meta) Pixel and personalized advertising
As part of our advertising campaigns, our website may include the Facebook/ Instagram (Meta) Pixel as well as the Conversions API. These tools collect certain technical data relating to your browsing, including your IP address, browser type, and a pixel ID. If you have a Facebook/Instagram account and are logged in to that account during your visit to our site, your browsing activity may be linked to your Facebook/Instagram user account.
This data is used to:
- build audience segments and lookalike audiences based on the personal data we have collected;
- deliver targeted advertising on social media platforms (Meta) and other platforms (for example, Google Ads) based on your interests;
- measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns.
This activity is carried out only if you have consented to our advertising and analytics cookies via the cookie management banner. You may withdraw this consent at any time using our cookie preference management tool.
Please note that Meta (and, where applicable, Google) may act as an independent data controller and use your personal data for its own purposes, under the conditions set out in its own privacy policy, over which we have no control.
In addition, when you create an account or provide your contact details (email, phone number), this account data may also be used for advertising personalization purposes, but only if you have previously given your consent to receive our personalized communications. This activity automatically stops if you unsubscribe from our marketing campaigns.
How to exercise your choice
If you do not wish for pixels to be used in connection with our communications to you, you may exercise your right to object at any time.
Where required by applicable law, non-essential pixels and similar tracking technologies are only activated after you have given your consent through the cookie/consent management banner available on our website. You may withdraw this consent at any time through that same banner, in addition to the option below.

3) Legal basis for processing
The personal data processing carried out is based on:
- Either the consent of the data subject (Article 6.1.a of the GDPR) for all processing requiring prior consent. In online forms, mandatory fields are marked with an asterisk. Failure to answer mandatory questions will prevent us from providing you with the requested services.
- Or the performance of a contract or the implementation of pre-contractual measures,
- Or the pursuit of a legitimate interest (Article 6.1.e of the GDPR).
- Or compliance with a legal or regulatory obligation;
In particular, the use of tracking pixels and similar technologies for marketing and personalisation purposes is based on your prior consent (Article 6.1.a of the GDPR), which you may withdraw at any time as described below.
Your data is retained for the period necessary to fulfil the purposes mentioned above.
The retention period for Customers’ personal data depends on the relevant purpose. In this context, Customers’ personal data is retained for the time necessary to fulfil their request. Failing any such fulfilment, personal data is deleted within the timeframes recommended by the Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL), at the end of a period of three years from their collection, subject to:
- legal archiving options and obligations,
- obligations to retain certain data for evidentiary purposes and/or to anonymise such data.
Customer’s personal data collected and processed for the purposes of fulfilling offers is retained for the period necessary to manage the contractual relationship.
By way of exception, personal data required to establish proof of a right or a contract is archived in accordance with legal provisions (5 or 10 years after the end of the business relationship, depending on the case).
4) Who are the recipients of your data?
Your personal data is intended for L.T. Piver.
- Our internal departments: it is processed by staff from our various departments, such as the sales department or the department in charge of IT security.
- Trusted companies or individuals: they process your information on our behalf for the purposes set out above, in accordance with our instructions as described in our Privacy Policy and any other appropriate use in terms of confidentiality and security.
- Technical subcontractors: your personal data may be transferred to our technical subcontractors (within the meaning of Article 4.8 of the GDPR) under strict conditions. In the event of a transfer, we ensure that subcontractors comply with the GDPR and implement technical and organisational measures to guarantee the protection of data (Art. 28 of the GDPR).
- Traffic analytics provider (such as Google Analytics)

We may sometimes allow our partners to process, on our behalf, the personal information we hold about you for the purposes set out in this policy or for any other reason required by law.
Customers’ personal data collected is hosted in France.
Where we use a provider located outside the European Union, we undertake to verify that appropriate measures have been put in place so that personal data benefits from an adequate level of protection.
Some of our providers, such as our CRM manager (Klaviyo), may be located outside the European Union. In such cases, we ensure that the safeguards described above (adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses) apply to the relevant transfers.

We implement all organisational and technical measures to ensure an appropriate level of security for your personal data, and in particular to prevent any loss of confidentiality, integrity or accessibility.

6) What are your rights regarding your personal data?
In accordance with applicable regulations, you have the following rights:
- A right to rectification: you have the right to obtain the correction of inaccurate data concerning you. You also have the right to complete incomplete data concerning you by providing an additional statement. When exercising this right, we undertake to communicate any correction to all recipients of your data,
- A right to erasure: in certain cases, you have the right to obtain the erasure of your data. However, this is not an absolute right and we may, for legal or legitimate reasons, retain such data.
- A right to restriction of processing: in certain cases, you have the right to obtain the restriction of the processing of your data,
- A right to data portability: you have the right to receive the data you have provided to us, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, for your own personal use or to transmit it to a third party of your choice. This right only applies where the processing of your data is based on your consent, on a contract, or is carried out by automated means,
- A right to object to processing: you have the right to object at any time to the processing of your data for processing based on our legitimate interest, a public interest mission, and for direct marketing purposes. This is not an absolute right and we may, for legal or legitimate reasons, refuse your objection request,
- The right to withdraw your consent at any time: you may withdraw your consent to the processing of your data where such processing is based on your consent. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent carried out before such withdrawal,
- The right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: you have the right to contact the data protection authority of your country of residence, place of work, or the place where the alleged infringement occurred (or the CNIL, the French data protection authority, if you are located in France) to complain about our personal data protection practices,
In accordance with the GDPR, the conditions for exercising these rights may vary depending on the legal basis of the processing referred to in the first paragraph.
We will respond to any exercise of rights as soon as possible and in any event within 30 days of receipt of the request.
We reserve the right to:
- Request proof of the identity of the requester in the event of reasonable doubt as to their identity, in order to comply with our confidentiality obligations,
- Extend the response period by two months, informing the requester of this extension and the reasons for the delay within one month of receipt of the request,
- Refuse to respond to a request to exercise rights if it is considered abusive (given its number, repetitive or systematic nature).
